Get your geek on

One of the things I love about being a mom is all the fun things you get to do. When was the last time you chased a butterfly? Pet a starfish? Mixed glue and borax to make goo? Underneath it all I am just a geek at heart, and nothing is more fun than spending a Friday morning at a science center showing your child all the wonders of the world and reminding yourself just how cool this crazy ride on this amazing planet is.

  1. I agree, I’m a science/natural history buff myself; esp. paleontology/dinosaurs. If you ever get the chance to visit Chicago’s Field Museum, do so. You’ll love it!

    1. If I am ever in the area, I will. Thanks for the tip.

    1. Thanks K.J! Always happy to see you stop by.

  3. Funny, I’ve just, a couple of minutes ago, written a post about kids at the aquarium – same concept. I can see why people love having kids and getting to do all that stuff over again! xx

    1. Great minds Shiny. Great minds 🙂

  4. When in Chicago it is a great idea to visit The Field Museum of Natural History, one of the four best museums of natural history in the world.

Be sure to get on your hands and knees with your daughter in the main great hall of the Field Museum and look for the tiny prehistoric aquatic life embedded in the marble. Make sure your husband has your backs so you don’t get trampled on.

Learning and sharing raising children is one of the great joys of life for both parents and children. Welcome to the club. It is even better when you have grandchildren.

  6. Your pictures are always so amazing!! Love them. I’m with you on the fun at a science center! Can’t wait until my daughter is a little older and we can geek out. Savannah is getting a new children’s museum and I am so excited.
